2025

Professor Shin has been included in the 2025 list of Highly Cited Researchers

Selected by Elsevier the Highly Cited Researchers list recognizes scholars whose work ranks among the top 2% of the most cited publications worldwide and therefore has a particularly strong impact on their field.

On October 20–21, Prof. Shin participated in a two-day workshop at imec and KU Leuven, engaging in inspiring discussions with professors from POSTECH, SGU, SKKU, and SNU on future semiconductor technologies and collaboration opportunities.

The SSDM 2025 (International Conference on Solid State Devices and Materials) in Yokohama was highly informative, offering many stimulating and engaging topics for discussion.

Here: a quiet evening spent winding down with colleagues, together with Professor Kim from Seongang University.

2025 Summer Annual Conference of IEIE (대한전자공학회)

Professor Shin was invited to speak at this year’s IEIE Summer Conference. Representing his university, he gave a talk titled “Hafnia-based Ferroelectrics for Logic, Memory, and Beyond”, highlighting the transformative role of hafnia in advancing next-generation semiconductor technologies—from high-performance logic and memory to neuromorphic and IoT applications.

2025 International Conference on Noise and Fluctuations ; Taormina, Italy

As a leading researcher in low-frequency noise analysis—a field increasingly essential for the development and optimization of practical semiconductor technologies—Professor Shin was invited to speak at this year’s International Conference on Noise and Fluctuations (ICNF 2025).

He presented his latest works on “Impact of 1/f Noise in Scaled FeFET Devices on Hardware Neuromorphic System Performance” and “Low-Frequency Noise in Gas Sensors", addressing critical noise challenges in next-generation AI hardware.
